I agree.  The blackberries are starting to ripen where we've been hunting around 600-800 ft, but the majority are still green.  Couple more weeks.

I'm seeing quite a few turning now, as compared to last week. Still, the majority are green...but every once in a while I come across a nice ripe patch around 600-800ft.

A week or two? Nah...as soon as the weather cools a bit!
I left it better than I found it...did you?

The salal and blackberries are starting to ripen here at my place but are mostly still green, and I'm at about 450 or so.  When I get to the bottom of the hill, near the Cowlitz, though, the salal is ripe and ready to eat.  I'm guessing that the hot days and cool nights will really put the color on them, though.

Anybody have any suggestions for Ryderwood GMU?

Blackberries are ripe next Lynden. The mountain berries take a little longer, but with this heat I don't think it'll be September at all. End of this week looks really good for many berry species on the west side. Hucks I saw on the east side, above 2,500' two weeks ago really had some time before ripe. Salmon berries should be looking quite well about now. Blueberries are sparse at elevation yet.

Im already picking blueberries where I live in shoreline (N. Seattle), also Himalayan blackberry...but not one bit of bear sign, LOL

I was up between 500-1000 ft last week and the himalayans are ripe in spots but the full explosion should be now until Sep....the native trailing blackberry was still fully green, those are the good ones you know! They look like 2 more weeks.

We were up around 5k' and there was nothing even close to rip in the Blues over the weekend. This would be in the Tucannon and Lick Creek units.

Didn't spend too much time in the woods at anything much lower in elevation.
