less areas for bow hunting
« on: August 12, 2010, 08:59:56 AM »
Anyone else notice the loss of hunting areas for bow hunters??? I did a quick tally and here is what I came up with comparing last year to this year. 09 early elk we had 138 oppertunities to hunt this year 112. late elk 09 was 131, 2010 = 98 that totaly sucks. same for deer 09 we had 593 areas  2010 = 372. Thats not counting the master hunting. Not to mention the areas we have to wear orange because of riffle hunters chasing bear or ?? Who actually hunts with a bow in orange? not me. Some area change from anterless to 3 point in the middle of the season I double counted them because it just got so damn confusing like everything else the State does cloud up the issue and slip it through. What do you guy's think about this???

Most of us bent over and took it in the shorts.  Probably most bow hunters did not go to the information meetings and give input.  When the Fish and Wildlife have the informational meetings maybe people will make an effort to provide input next year.   :twocents:.  Get involved or you will lose everything!!!!!

You dont have to wear orange unless its a open modern or muzzy dear or elk area. You dont have to wear orange for bear only.

Are you speaking of general season hunts only?  Could be that some things were changed around to give other user groups such as muzzy more opportunity.  :dunno:
