Naches river

Went to the naches the other day and caught some nice rainbows, here is my best one of the day, sorry its a cell phone pic.

Very nice! I was there a week ago and caught what looked like a cutthroat, but had a very red belly below the lateral line. Is that just how the cutthroat look in the Little Naches?

My buddy caught a cutthroat that had an orangish/red belly too, not sure what was up with that, its the only one like that I have seen.

Maybe they were dolly varden or bull trout?   :dunno:

No, it had the orange slash under the jaw and spots on the dorsal fin. We have caught a few bull trout in there beforebut they didn't look like this.

Might have to get out the trout fly rod, and put away the steelhead gear for a day this weekend.. I've been thinking about going out that way for awhile..  Nice fish BTW.

A lot of the cutthroat do have red under there chins in that river all the way up river to bumping lake

The squaw fish are terrible this year, I catch atleast a couple every time i go. Last year I never caught 1.
