Will he be there in the morning?
« on: August 12, 2010, 10:36:59 PM »
Saw this guy tonight at 600 plus yards. Sorry for the quality of the picture. We watched him for 2 hours and he didn't move 30 yards. How long do you think he'll stick around? Will he be there in the morning? Either way I'll be up there!!!

i don't know how hot it is where you are at. but i think in this heat around here they have been camping out and not movin around much. stayin close to water and a food source. i would say there is a good chance he might not be to far. hope he is around and you can make him famous on the internet  :IBCOOL: go get him. looks like a nice bear from that far away.

Heck, Its a very good chance he'll be in the same area!!  What I would do is go to about where you saw him last and if he is not there start calling and he my wonder in.  When I do spot a bear off at a distance I will typically call with a fawn in distress, and about 85% of the time they have started wondering towards me.  I'll let the bear cut the distance, you can call me lazy :dunno:, but I call it smart  :IBCOOL:

If you watched him for 2 hours why didn't you get closer and tag out on him?

lEFT AT 01:49 - I sure hope he gets him. I can almost bet he didn't sleep at all last night. The hunter, not the bear, LOL.

Well.... nothing.  I went out early and made it to the clear cut after a 2.5 hour bike ride. I watched the hill side for as long as I could without being late to work. We didn't see anything so we decided to pack up and head out. On the way out I almost hit a bear....with my bike  :yike:. I went down a steep hill and as I crested the top there was a bear and he took of down the road :bdid:. The problem was I was riding down the road too but I had a headstart and I was going faster.  By the time the bear got off the road I was skidding behind him at about 5 yards trying to stop. Never did see it again.

I had to work today from 10 to 6 so my dad and I went out again tonight and nothing.

I'm trying to get a hold of one of my buddies to go with me again in the morning. I'm tired...Still running on no sleep.

It's a 2.5 hour bike ride and impossible to go through the bottom of it.

Still looking for my first bear!!!
