Scouting trip Alta
« on: August 17, 2010, 07:05:56 PM »
we went last weekend to the alta unit basically to just learn the roads and area the area looks awesome, i just want to thank everybody for all the advice that was emailed to me, i wont forget it. on our saturday trip we counted 26 mule deer with 3 of them bucks, and 7 whitetail with 1 buck. the mule deer were 2 pointers and a spike, while the whitetale was a 3 pointer we also stoped and chated with a random truck and come to find out it was ELKHUNTER, so we chated a bit longer, all in all it was a great weekend and we learned alot

Hmmm..., a hot spot!  I think my party and I will have to try the "Alta" area this year.  Thanks for your hard scouting work, tips, and info.

Was nice to finally get some scouting in. Had a great time. It was kind of cool running in to someone else from the site. The only other rig we talked to the whole weekend. We even saw Bearmanric driving south on i-5 threw fort lewis area on our way home. Boy was it hot. We will be back to check out some other spots next time.
It's not the size of the trophy that make's it a trophy.

Those are the last few deer that the Wolves haven't eaten or chased out...  :chuckle:
