Carp heres another like it. a year older but a foot and a half bigger. http://spokane.craigslist.org/boa/1881398470.html for 300$$ less.
I think it looks sweet from the pics and seems to be a fair price. So does this one in Spokane. I've been looking at boats similar to this for the last year or two but either cant find one when I'm ready to buy or they are sold before I get to it. I want something that is mostly good for deeper, wider rivers, like the Snohomish, and good for big lakes too - but can carry at least 6 people across from Anacortes to the San Juans a few times a year. I would jump on either of these boats today if I had the money to buy it. Where is this one located Carp? If you dont end up buying do you mind sharing the ad info? I'd like to check it out and maybe try to pull some $tring$ together to buy it.

Aluminum boats seem to have a lower personnel rating than fiberglass (I think because there is less built in flotation, but am not sure).  Be sure to ask what the rating tag says.  Our 19' Alumaweld is only rated for 5 people, even though I have carried 1200+ pounds of cargo plus myself without any handling issues.

I also drag mine up on the sand all the time, and there is little wear on the keel, unlike my fiberglass trophy.

I think you are right about the rating on glass vs aluminium. I have an 18ft FiberForm and it is rated for like 8 people or 2300# and most aluminum ones in that size are like 5-6 people or 1200#. I just like the aluminum hulls better. They seem more durable and dont rot out as easy. I dont know.

That might be why its still for sale. Too far away from the all the big city buyers. I like it from the pics. And the Hewes is sweet too. Looks like lots of room. 8500 is fair, been watching them for awhile. But I do like the Lund Tyee style a little better.

The Hewes is a lot better built boat than the Lunds.  I'm not a big Merc fan but looks like a good boat for the price (Sea Runner).  I think that may have some rivets on it it, make sure to look around them if it does.  Good luck!
