Seems like the last few weeks they started coming into the stubble field up by us. Looks like it's going to be a good year hear

Haven't seen many here in the Yakima Valley. Might not even go out this year.   :dunno:

Well get this - this never happens to me.  Went out looking for stubble fields.  As we were getting  near where I knew one was at - doves coming in and out.  As we got closer there was a truck coming down the ditch bank.  We sped up to get to the end of the field and got out and introduced our selves.  It was the land owner.  After about 10 minutes of small talk - PERMISSION!  And 20 minutes from home.  As far as numbers - not the most. but there were many limits in this field.  We'll do ok.

And has anyone ever tried the hearts.  Keep them, toss them in a skillet with margarine and seasoning salt - cook them till they are brown.  Wont get you full, but the are tasty!  A yearly ritual at our house.
