shooting/reloading supply stores in North Seattle area?
« on: August 24, 2010, 03:14:59 PM »
Any REAL shooting stores in the north Seattle area?   i need primers (a couple hundred not a brick of 500 or 1000) and/or bullets.  plus a few odds and ends...   back in the Midwest, there are gun shops in every small town and they carry most of what you would need for reloading and hunting but i am having a heck of a time finding components around here (Index, Monroe, Everett).   i drove all the way to DGS in Everett and found out they dont carry bullets and the smallest box of primers they sell is a brick of 500...

I'm sure there is a gun shop around here somewhere but i just cant find it.  any help or ideas?   even a decent chain store would work (Bass Pro/Cabelas/Gander MT...)

Thanks!

Closest Cabelas to you is in Olympia.  Sportco in Tacoma or Butches in Seattle might have what you need, but call first. There's shop on Broadway in Everett. Then to the north is Kesselrings in Alger. I don't know what's in Marysville.

Get one thing straightened out in your head right quick. You are not back east (midwest) in a small town.

Personally, I don't buy pistol primers unless I can get a brick or two at a time. Rifle primers.. I'll split with someone and still buy a brick.

Mention what you're specifically looking for, and maybe someone will know of a current local source for that item.

Thanks for the info.   yeah, i know i am not in the midwest anymore, just using that as a reference.

i reload for my SRH in 454 so i dont go through a brick of primers that often, especially when i reload my 45 colt loads as they are the only ones that require large pistol primers (which is what i was looking for).  and some .452 bullets (XTP Mags or Barnes).   i live in Index and i was hoping to find a shop in Monroe or Bothel...

Skagit Guns and Wholesale Sports in Burlington have reloading supplies.  That's not to long of a long run.

Outdoor Emporium is the name of the store by safeco. It's owned by sportco

Ah yeah.. Bothel.. I'm pretty sure that whole population there is tree huggin anti gunnin types.  I am surprised there isn't a guns shop in Monroe. Even here in the tiny town of Lynden we've got a pretty good sporting goods store. I forgot about Holiday Sports in Burlington. OK, who's in Lake Stevens or Stanwood with a source?

You would be surprised. There's actually quite a few of us that would rather cut down a tree then hug it. Me and all my buddies hunt.

Sad to say, but your easiest/best option is to drive to Kesselring's in Burlington.  Make the trip worthwhile by stopping at the Alger Bar & Grill for some "broasted" chicken. :P

There is Adventure Sports in lynnwood and DJ's in Bothell.
The reason there are so many Ruger upgrades is because they're necessary.

Thanks all, now i have quite a few options.   Fremont, i will make that trip just for the broasted chicken ;)

i had heard about DJ's, where is it?  and i also heard of a place called Sam's in Everett.  i guess i will be making another trip.

i had worked up some more loads and after i shoot them today, i will decide on my new hunting round.  i hope the 300 XTP Mag over 29 gr/W296 will be as accurate as 31 gr/H110.    If i can find some 250 gr Barnes, i would lke to try those.

+1 for Adventure Sports in Lynnwood.  Better than average selection of reloading supplies.

I agree, better than average, but that just means they have a few over priced items.  Last time I was there they had a pound of Blue Dot (that’s the good news), they wanted $32.00 for it (the bad news).  Similar story for the rest of their stuff.

You could try Kenmore gun range in Bothell.  They have some items.  Best selection and prices around for shotshell loading, pistol & rifle is so – so.

Adventure sports in Lynnwood great.  Small Store, good selection, great service.  Prices are average for a small non-chain store.  I'll toss a few more dollars to the small store in exchange for the extra service.

Kesselrings is also great, just a bit of a drive.  Worth it though.

-Steve

haha, me too!

Theres a dedicated reloading shop out in Cle Elum if your willing to make the drive, or are already heading east. Nice little mom/pop store that carries just about everything imaginable. Three Forks Ammo & Reloading, I believe

G.I Joes used to carry everything until they went under

The other option would be going to WAC (Wa Arms Collectors) show. There are always a few tables setup selling brass/primers/etc... the hard part would be finding someone w/ powder. (This is in Monroe/Puyallup, so oddly enough, I guess Monroe does have something..)
Theres plenty of room for all of gods animals.... right next to the mashed potatoes!

well, after calling all of the ones within 50 miles of me, i have found no one has 451/452 bullets nor large pistol primers in lots of less than 1000.

SO...  does anyone in the Monroe, Index, Skykomish area have 451/452 bullets (240 gr or bigger) or large pistol primers (50-100 of each) they are willing to sell?  i have 454 brass and primers (no bullets) and i have 45 colt brass (no primers)  :bash:

thanks all :)

I gave up trying to find a store that sells reloading supplies.  I live in Issaquah and there is nothing around here that is useful for reloading, so I just pay the shipping and order from Midway USA or Cabela's.  Midway ships faster than Cabela's and I think they are more of a gun supply outfit.

i grew up in Central Missouri (so i know Midway well ;) ), Omaha, NE and Walnut, IA; Dallas, TX...  i have also lived in Laconia, NH; Cheyenne, Wy; Bremerton, WA; Corpus Christi, TX and Helena, MT...

i went ahead and ordered some 300gr XTP Mags for the 454, but i am still looking for any 451/452 bullets big enough to shoot as practice and plinking rounds and of course large pistol primers.  i had a PM sent from a local guy that has primers and might have some bullets  :)

Sky Valley Traders in Monroe might have some stuff...they sell guns and ammo.
There's a place in Woodinville by Target called AMS Guns or something like that...he has reloading stuff. He has wierd hours so call first.
There's Doug's Boats and Outdoors in Woodinville that may have some reloading stuff. I've been there once since they expanded and can't remember if they had anything or not.
DJ's in Bothell is supposed to be a great gun shop though I've not been there.
There's Outdoor Emporium in Seattle.

Have you ever been to Index? There's hardly a convenience store or gas station in Index.

actually i live in Index.  i like that seclucion but the loss of convenience gets to me sometimes, ha ha.   it does have one of the best coffee/wifi places i have ever been though!

i tried all of the places you listed (except the Emporium), no one had much of what i was looking for.

thanks for the info!

Last time I was at emporium, they did not stock reloading gear.  They said they had it all at their Fife store (Sportco).  Now that stuff is more available they may have started carrying it
