just for fun: leaf spring balista

just for schittzengiggle, ive always wanted to make a balista/ancient seige machine (giant crossbow emplacement thing) that launched round fenceposts(or tiki torches) powered by a leaf spring.... think it would work?

Saw a Can we build it kinda show on PBS, one episode they built two Trebuchets, catapaults about 3 stories tall, pretty cool.

The next project?  A Crossbow with a 100foot Bow. It broke on the first draw..
