Maybe his buddy did on purpose? Oh boy What a perfect bulleye? How many Beer would he drank?? I believe he was mad at him about something. ;) Lucky him that he is ALIVE!  :P

He survived with no ill effects, this has actually been circulating the web for a couple years now.

He was in a tree stand below his buddy, he leaned out to see what his buddy was shooting at just in time to get shot in the back of the head.

Depending on the energy in that shot, hes lucky it didn't flip him ass over teakettle right out of his stand, he would have been doing a sumersault to the ground.
