So I've got a trail camera set up once again at an intersection of 4 trails on a bench just inside the timber from a perfect aged clearcut. I've got 7, maybe 8 different bucks walking these trails to and from the feeding area, but nothing solid as in every night. I plan to set in my tree stand, 25 yards away, every night that I can throughout September.
I know when the bucks first strip their velvet they'll often play around and lightly spar. I guess my question is have any of you tried to emulate light sparring during the early season for whitetails to spur their curiosity and get them to come your way? I've read about people using fawn bleats this time of year to bring in does, but I'm looking for something that might bring a buck in.
I'll be taking the first respectable buck that comes by, though there have been a couple dandies that I'd love to run an arrow through!
Thanks in advance for any tips you guys might have!
