Why the heck are you changing things on your set up a week before season???  If it wasn't broke don't fix it...

:chuckle: Thats what I"M THINKING!!! :bash:

Seriously though... its not like I cant cut them all off and replace with the Eastons and be back to normal.... which is quit likely what I'll do! But I am going to give them a couple twists tonight and see if they start flying.

The reason I dinked with them, is my other vanes were real soft...and when They shot into the target so that the vanes were buried....they'd get all wrinkely and wavy... so I thought the harder Blazers wouldn't do that...

I'm not worried in the least...if they dont fly good tonight, I'll switch back!!

That does crack me up that we are all just fine and hitting the kill zone out to 55 yards and try to get a little more out of it. I have done the same thing.  The solution to correct the vanes from getting wavy was a stiffer target ! Not stiffer vanes that still bury to the vanes.  Good luck, by the way I love my blazers. Although my friends laugh at the flight noise they make. Mike

Quad... yep...training wheels... I have shot trad strictly since 03' I think...and just decided to try these fancy contraptions out again for a bit! I'll  have my longbow in the truck for backup if this thing breaks down on me!

I shot these today some more, 65 yards I was grouping about 10 inches,in the wind, but they still waggled too much for me...just field points. I think my big Razor cap broadheads would have looked like a 3 ring circus going through the air!!

I then tried them with 100 grain points... much cleaner flight... I noticed with my 175's on, they fly a bit sideways before they straighten out...I think that head is just a touch heavy for these shafts... I am going to turn my bow down a couple pounds and see how they look...if they dont fly better, I"ll shoot lighter heads....or get stiffer arras....

Oh..by the way, I also stripped all the blazers and am back to the easton low pros... the eastons are about .455 tall while the blazers were .6...

Sorry sounded like you were trying to change things last minute more than experiment. My bad for assuming this! But I stick by my "if it ain't broke" comment. Wavy vanes... the worst part about that is they look ugly.

Is that what this is all about, you can't get close enough so you have taken up the wheels. LOL

Diversifying is a good thing, but you are scaring me. :chuckle:

You know, it started as me wanting a wheeley for antelope hunting...maybe muley hunting on the prairie here... Then when I hurt my shoulder this summer I figured shoot....I may HAVE to shoot this thing for elk too... I couldn't draw my elk weight longbow back, but could easily draw my compound... So.... I basically gave up on the LB for a season..... I shot it some today, and my shoulder doesn't hurt, but 'pops' at almost full draw...a little disconcerting... But I was shooting my LB dam near as good as my compound at the closer ranges...(well... good enough...lets put it that way)....SO...it will be in the truck as I pack this metal outfit around and if something goes haywire with the metal...I'll have my LB...

As far as getting close enough...I suck dude... you know that... This bow will open me up a bit...out to 45 anyways...

Hauling that heavy Hoyt around instead of that Hawk might be tougher on your shoulder!
