i hunt here behind my house and i see the elk all the time. up until 2 weeks ago. where did they go? they have no reason to leave.

Depending on where you hunt, they may not be yet. All the agriculture is 2 weeks behind because of the wet, cold spring. So, if "your" elk usually move down off the mountain into the garbonzo beans etc.., then they may still be down there feeding in the fields when archery season opens. Depends on your area and your elk... I am not seeing anything up high yet. All down in the fields still.

WHat area are you in, the area I am going the elk are pretty much right where they are supposed to be at this time of year....
An example is if you are in the LOLO area of Idaho I can tell you where the elk went.....

im hunting around 1200 feet. just out side Orting wa. there here all year round and now gone...... i just know...

I grew up in Orting. There used to be elk in all 3 of those directions. Trying to remember what they were doing and where they were hiding this time of year. Been quite some time since I chased them around though.
