Loving life in the Great Northwest one day at a time.

It sounds like it's time to get a new gun.

OK....I have to ask,   Where is everyone hunting that they are able to get those elk out whole?   :yike:  We have only taken one out whole and it was a calf a half mile from the road.  All our other pack require quartering minimum..... Apparently I need to find a new place to hunt....

The two elk in the back of the truck in my photo were chased over hill and dale 2-3 miles and shot about 50 yards apart. After all the high-fives were exchanged my party was sweating how we were going to get them both out in a day, when we heard a truck! Turns out there was a logging road 500 feet up the hill! My father always carries a snatch block and 600 feet of rope in his truck, and it finally paid off. :)
I am not opposed to golf, for I suspect it keeps armies of the unworthy from discovering deer.

Dode that is a heck of a buck!

I second that - awesome buck, Dode.  You are also in some of my absolute favorite weather to hunt.  I don't know if it's "BEST" but it's some of the most fun.  Very cool.
