Stoeger Shotguns

Anyone hunt with a Stoeger?  I looked at a Condor yesterday, the basic model, and for the price it was impressive.  The wood was quality, although the finish was not Browning quality it is fine for a field gun.  The parts all fit right, balance was good, price is attractive ($349.99).

A buddy of my brothers had a 20 side by side... good shooting gun... if your needing to impress some one... Ya probaby aren't too concerned with price... and if you are you should concentrate on shooting better.

I have never shot one, but the ones I've looked at were ok. They aren't gonna win any beauty contest, but for a truck gun I think they would be fine. I believe Dave Workman has just gotten a .410 sxs to do a critique on. I believe it is a Stoeger. You may want to do some looking around for a Stevens model 311. I do have one of those and it is a good truck gun for me. I found mine in the Nickel classifieds for $200.00.

Our 1st hunting shotgun is a Condor and we LOVE the thing.  Now I have a Citori and a Benelli and the Stoegar is still often the one I choose as the GoTo.  We  got pretty nice lumber on ours, it's not a bad looker at all. I'll see if I can find a photo of it.  It has killed pheasant, Grouse (Ruffs and Blues), cottontails... and a lot of clays when we were learning to wingshoot.  I will probably get their new SxS for Jeni for her bday in November.  I wouldn't hesitate to buy one again, or to recommend it to friends.   The only change it I would not get the Supreme again b/c the extractors in the field are a PITA - it chucks the spent waaaay behind me, but that's a pretty picky complaint.

So I'd happily and without reservation give our Condor 5 stars out of 5.

I got my Grandpa one and I wish I didn't he has had problems.  It doesn't close right all the time

A friend has a Stoeger 2000, 3" 12 ga semi auto, and we have shot the piss out of it. Other than the finish not being that great, it started to get rust spots even after being oiled, it has been a very reliable shotty. It has been much more reliable than another friends brand new 870 3.5".

In ten years it might be a different story but right now it is running very nice.

While not a SxS it seems that anyone who can make a reliable semi auto should be able to make a reliable SxS.

Ive got a condor o/u 20ga. love it had it going on five years very light weight and dependable
couldn't tell you how many rounds have been through it let just say rabbits being chased by dogs equalled a lot of shells the first year. wouldn't trade that gun or the memories for the most expensive shot gun you could find

I have the Stoeger Condor I in .12 gauge.  It seems to do the job.
