Awesome looking bear.  Great color.
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

I guess I can give my story. We hiked into the high country Monday morning and got to the meadows at about 1100am. When we got to the first basin we didn't see any bears at all which was kinda disappointing when you consider we seen 16 in the same basin 9 days ago. We walked down the ridge top checking both sides of the ridge and there was nothing stirring anywhere so we decided to hike over to another mountain top and check out some new country. We only made it about a half mile and it started raining and I had left my raincoat in my day pack back at one of the basins we hunt so we turned around and headed for our packs. As soon as we got back to the first basin we could look into my brother in law spotted this guy down in a rock slide digging around. We decided I would go after him and after a 300 yard stalk I was 80 yards from him behind a couple little pine trees using one as a rest. My first shot hit him hard in the front shoulder but he didn't go down, instead he tried to run but was moving pretty slow. H e made it about 20 yards before my second shot dropped him in his tracks. I'm not an expert on guessing these guys weight but he sure felt like well over 300 pounds two of us could barely move him, he was well fed I'm thinking we are in store for a tough winter because he had about 4 inches of fat on his a$$ and up his sides. His head was pretty big to I took a book bear last year and this one dwarfs it combine that with the color of this bear and I can honestly say besides my moose last year this is the trophy of my lifetime so far.

That was what my rough estimate was on the skull to, 19 and some change. Seemed about 9 across, but pretty long to like 10 1/2 or so. My guess was about 19 1/2 we will see in a couple months when I get it back from the beetles.
