You bear killers checking the bellies?
« on: September 07, 2010, 06:56:29 PM »
When I opened up my bear his belly was empty. My theory is that he waited out the wind storm in the deep stuff and came out when it stopped. His intestines were full of grass though. I didn't go poking through them but what I did see was grass. What are you guys finding? It may help some of our members to key in on an area.

No, actually the one I took was feeding on Raspberries.  I have seen lots of sign in the Huck's though.

You must be a wet sider. There was a great pic last year of a bears belly. The thing was completely jam packed with raspberry's or blackberries. It was a great pic. Maybe whoever took it will re post.

Actually I'm a east-sider.  I live on the east slopes of Mt. Adams and no not Tout Lake.  Took the bear in the 578 unit.

All the bears we have shot so far are completely full of blueberries. A couple had some grass mixed in as well but mostly just blueberries. I was amazed how many green berries were in there along with the ripe ones. Also I was amazed how few leaves, just the berries themselves.
