-This one has all of you beat, Night before the Archery opener last year my cousin was gathering his gear after dark at his house. He was standing on his front porch checkin his calls and wanted to make sure the bugle still sounded good so he cracked one off, and way up on the hill above his house a bull responded, he was thinking no f'n way, so for *censored*s and giggles he cracked another one off and the bull responded again and closed the distance in half, my cousin was telling himself this cant be happining I'm not even hunting around here, He calls again and he hears the elk coming through the field across the street, hes *censored*tin and calls again and the bull comes screaming in all the way to the fence right across his driveway!! It damn near jumped the fence till it figured out what was going on but he called that bull in from his house!! When there hot there hot! :chuckle:

I like areas with lots of road hunters. Would you rather see your competition in his truck, or in an awesome saddle you found 2 miles off the road. It just is more area for me  :P

I heard a guy calling (poorly) from his truck below me once (where I had been sitting for about twenty minutes next to my truck listening), so I bugled back.  He answered so I kept working him.  He hiked up the hill, when I could see him sneaking up below me, I stood up, waved, and drove away.  I guess I was kind of a jerk that day but maybe it spurred him to practice his calling more....   :chuckle:

been on both sides of that fence, in Idaho 2 years ago, was driving up to our parking site to start our hike in and saw a group of cows so pulled over and told my wife "there's got to be a bull with 'em." sat there at about 500 yards looking 'em over with binos and out he comes. I bugled from inside my still running rig and he answers right back. we park and walk up bugling, cows watching us the whole time and bugle him in to 80-90 yards and my wife misses him but it worked!
another time in Idaho I was walking along the edge of a cut and these guys pull up at the bottom of the cut, get out, slamming doors, talking, and then blow on their bugle, I consider answering them just to be a wiseguy but am afraid they may try to shoot to"jump" the bull out of the brush so I didn't, but it was tempting.
