snow goose permit?

Ok last spring I applied online for my snowgoose/seaduck/brant permits. I got an email stating that I was successful and these permits would show up when I purchased my licenses...

I bought my small game and state migratory bird licenses yesterday and nothing about my snowgoose permit came up. will I get them when I purchase my federal stamp or is something screwy here?  its been over ten years since I have hunted snows so I am unfamiliar with the current protocol.

Had the same thing happen to me so I called WDFW they said the computer system linking to stores is screwy but they should be available on the 1st.  Well it is now the 2nd and yours wasn't in there I will call again today.

I thought I remember having to specifically ask them to add it as it's like a $1.50 fee. but I could be off my rocker.

You will have to ask for it.  They just don't print it out.  There is a .50 transaction fee per report.  Snows, brant and sea ducks.

that's the full $1.50 then. band tailed are on there too I think, IIRC

They are not available at the retailers yet?  I called WDFW yesterday and they said 2 weeks

My Brant and Pigeon authorizations are available on the licensing website. So they should be in the stores now...

Those guys need to get organized.  If your still in the system from last year and turned in your permit, it should be a no brainer to have it issued.

I still think WDFW should move towards a scanner/card system. Carrying a "PACKET" of licenses is rediculous. people tell me... "keep it in your tacklebox". "keep it in your waders"... well if you hunt, fish, etc you are constantly moving it around and it's easy to lose. it's tooo fat to keep in your wallet (IMO) with all the tags (turkey, deer, bear, elk, cougar,) licenses, catch cards (salmon, steelhead, sea duck, snow goose, brant), etc. one simple little credit card that you recharge every year, and issue a scanner to the gamies that they can just scan your card and see what all you've paid for. Then all we need to keep on hand is a catch card. keep your salmon card in your boat or tackle, keep your sea duck card in your waders.

There are several issues with that. One is $$$, how much money would it cost to give every game warden some type of scanner? Also, I am sure this scanner would need to have some type of cell phone service/coverage to connect to Olympia and considering most of us hunt/fish in areas where there is no service how would an officer check your license there? And finally, game wardens are not the only law enforcement officers that enforce hunting and fishing laws, any police officer no matter if they are a seattle cop, king county deputy, wa state trooper, us forest service officer or park ranger can legally check your license and write hunting/fishing tickets. So essentially you would need to supply this "scanner" to every law enforcement officer in the state, not just WDFW Officers. Not enough $ for that.
