Knight Bighorn and Wolverine Firing Pins

-Quick question for you knight guys, The firing pin on my Bighorn is pointed and the firing pin on my wolverine is flat. My bighorn is set up with the musket cap nipple and shoots great! I talked with a guy at a muzzleloader shop and he said he has never heard of a pointed firing pin for musket caps?? I wanted to set up my wolverine just like my bighorn and dont know what is the correct firing pin?? Need some help!!

For one thing muzzle loaders dont have firing pins.................they have nipples.
Either of those guns can be fittet with a musket cap nipple from cabelas or wholesale sports for around $10.

I have a wolverine. I use musket caps and the firing "pin" is pointed. Seems to work fine for me.  Same with MHWash, and Bighorns2bushytails.

Thats what my bighorn has too and shoots great with musket caps, I have never had a misfire. My wolverine though is completly flat and no point to hit the cap?? I wanted to replace it with a firing pin or whatever you call it with one like on my bighorn and that guy at puyallup muzzleloader supply was acting like its the flat one that is correct and my bighorn has the wrong one? I like the pointed firing pin or hammer or whatever its called on the inline muzzys.

A musket cap or percussion cap sits on a NIPPLE. The hammer (either on a inline or side hammer gun) has a FLAT spot that smacks the cap onto the nipple causing the gun to fire.

NO FIRING PIN on a non primer gun  
The only muzzlaoders with firing pins are set up for a 209 primer ignition system and not legal for Washington.

   A hammer meant for musket or #11 should be flat not pointed, I sure would not wont to put a hole in the cap allowing the breach pressure to come back at my face! 209 Primers are that Primers not caps they need a pointed hammer or firing pin.

huh? Well I guess I will try the hammer that is flat on musket caps and see how it works! My bighorn is pointed though and thats how it came brand new!

I use a Bighorn #11 caps and the hammer pin in pointed..It has worked flawlessly.

If people dont know what they are talking about its better to just read a post than give bad advice.It could cause injury or worse to a poor guy that followed said advice.

By your logic when bow hunting the arrow is the bullet or how else do you kill the deer

If there is a pin on the bolt when you pull the trigger it hits cap and BOOM No its not a spring loaded firing pin like a standard rifle-No I am not new But some people nit pick anything. I am wrong its not a standard firing pin but does the same thing

My big horn has the same pointed hammer yours does. I like it and think it works great. As far as I know the parts for the bighorn and the wolverine are interchangeable. So you should just be able to find another hammer and put it in the wolverine.
