Teanaway
« on: August 27, 2010, 12:50:00 PM »
Im headed over there tomorrow for a week to do a little scouting and then hunt on the 1st and was wonderin if the bucks are all up high or if there down low closer to water. Last year they all seemed to be concentrated lower towards more water but this year has been alot more wet. any info you guys have would be much appreciated!

I live in cle elum and scout all the time.  I have been seeing deer all over up high down low.  They are bedding really early so that first hour of light is very important.  Just go to your favorite spot hopefully they are in there.

Well I wish some of the young deer would get a little smarter. I was coming over the cooper bridge the other night and there was a tiny two point with a 2 inch eye guard on one side. The stupid little guy was like 10 yards from the truck.  I hung out for a while to see if he had a big brother.  No big brother.  I know alot of bow hunters that come over here shoot bucks like that.  Pisses me off.  Let them grow guys.

Some people are hunting for meat not antlers so if they chose to arrow that dumb little buck it's there choice. You can hunt for antlers and that might piss people off so why would you let it bother you that much if someone would have shot him?The only thing that pisses me of is poaching and people taking unethical shots and wounding animals.

the buck was like one and a half. So you tell me 40 pounds of meat is ethical.  I am a meat hunter and would not shoot a buck like that.  I would rather have nothing!  These aren't coastal blacktail. :bash:

it helps when you live close to the areayou hunt. many guys spend more time waxing their toyhauler then scouting the area they hunt.

I watched 3 whitetail bucks last night up above metaline falls from 50 paces.....they were fish in a barrel and obviosly blind, deaf and had colds preventing them from smelling me. one would be a shooter.

Why isn't it ethical?? Was he a legal buck?? Maybe some people like to eat the younger deer than the older ones..I myself prefer the younger deer between 2 and 4 years old..So just because YOU may not agree with killing a younger deer, does not make it an ethical thing..

If it is totally legal, it is totally ethical.

Maybe some guy or gal only wants a little meat for the next year. Maybe it would be a youngsters first deer.

I would agree for a kids first buck.  I would be proud as all get out.  My whole thing is if a guy has been bow hunting for a while or any kind of hunting for that matter let the little ones get bigger.  I like to eat young deer the 3 and 4 year olds taste great.  Just because we have a mild winter and a buck grows his horns bigger than what they should be is no reason to kill it. It's  Still a fricking baby.

Well a legal buck is a legal buck regardless of your ethical standards and meat is meat whether its 40 pounds or 400 pounds. If someone were to shoot that buck this year congrats if you choose to pass on it that's your choice but its not unethical because you believe it is.
