Bears Down!
« on: September 04, 2010, 08:24:15 PM »
With the help of Shane and Chris, my son and I took a couple of bears yesterday and today. Chris also got one, and Shane seems so inclined...

I can tell you that a .375 H&H does a fine job on a bear at a tad over 300 yards. Also that Shane is a first class guy, and really knows his bears.

CONGRATS are in Order!

A couple of beasties there Guy. Dang fine that you and your son both got  bears on the same hunt. Hard to do at times, for sure.

.375 H & H had the right medicine for that bear, even at 300 yards.

Fine job shooting by the both of you. Guy made an outstanding shot off some sticks, one shot, bear went maybe 10 ft. We had quite the hunt, yesterday morning Guy and Chris (bullblaster) both put bears down on the same rock. We then saw 2 more bears from the same rock,  I was going to take one,but didn't want to have 3 down! What a dilemma . :IBCOOL: all 3 bears were filmed for Alwine outdoors....I am here alone now,  will try to fill my tag now before archery elk starts.

Hope we get some updated photos of the skins when they are done Guy. I'd get the skull's done too. They look great when bleached white. You and john will smile every time you see them.....they look great on a shelf (preferably where you can see them from the dinner table!).

Congrats on some great bears guys.  All appear to be dandies!
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
