Alta late rifle tag
« on: September 06, 2010, 05:57:58 PM »
I went on my first scout trip in the Alta unit unit.  It's been over thirteen years since I've been in the area.  I drew a goat permit in 1997 for Gardner and it was great to get up in the Methow area again.  I saw LOTS of mule deer over the weekend, but not one whitey!  I'm gonna have to knock on some doors I believe and try some of the low ground near the river, or head south and scout near Antoine creek.  Any suggestions?

I hunt up there. Will find them in the river bottoms among other places. River bottoms good place to start. I usually see some Some real nice wt's up there. Many are on private ground. Not a bad idea to start knocking on doors now.

Good luck!!
