it looks to me like a sow anyhow.....a decent one though. sometimes you have to let them walk, although, I am intrigued by bears in the sage....my only expierience with bears is in the alpine areas.

Pretty sure I would have let the air out of him.  That's a great bear...size, color and hide.  Shoot, skin, quarter, bone and get in the shade.  Better get back up there with a pack!  Nice pics...

that's a fine bear. very respectable of you to make a decision like that. not worth the risk of loosing the meat just to shoot one.
