I spent the day out on the peninsula looking for a bear about 6 hrs worth of looking.... this was after a 7 hour search and rescue case in the middle of the night and after I shipped a gun out for a buddy, what I found was some great weather and a whopper 6x6 with double eye guards!!! What I did was hiked out flagged down a husband and wife bow combo and told them what I had saw! I asked them if they wanted me to show them where they were? They replied of course, and up the hill we went... I put them on the now 6 cows and bull and said good hunting and good luck! I was stopped as I turned away by the very happy couple and he said man that's a nice bull!!! He told me karma will come my way and i told him, good hunting.... I walked back to the truck with a huge smile, missed the fact that I cant bow hunt for a bit due to an injury to my shoulder from driving the rescue boats for the coast guard. But was pumped when I raised my rifle with the "new 4.5 x 14 vari III Leupold" and drooled over the beast bull and thought to myself, this is sweet! This is what life is all about! I just hope the two love birds tag out on him he deserves a loving home! that said I didn't get to do the hunt but glad some one could.... The best of luck to all of you, and oh yeah I left my name and number on his truck! So if he does tag him, or she does. I will hopefully get a picture of the beast.. I love hunting season... Look forward to going hunting on the eastside for I hope a whitetail! My first one if I can get a chance at a legal buck... I will be hunting northeast of walla walla from the 13th - 21st oct... and took 12 days of for westside rifle elk....
