I am here!  Been busy with kids work and bear hunting.  Heading to Mt Spokane next weekend for another look around.  got most of my gear all layed out, buddies lined up to help load to bull up.  Need a little more experience in what a nice bull looks like but will get that figgured out then.  Cant wait.

Heading over next weekend to scout for my grandfathers Mt.Spokane Cow hunt. Gonna be tuff going for him as the Arthritis has really got him hurting, but hopefully there will be one hanging out close to the road.
If anyone over that way has one tied up in their backyard please let me know.  ;)

Just got home from Spokane, rode the Mica area for about 8 hours today, saw a few moose.  One nice bull.  Real foggy most of the morning, windy and cold.  It felt like November up high.  Hornets were out in force, hopefully they will take a frost nap real soon.  At one point, I unmounted the ATV to glass a bit, when I returned to it, there were 30+ hornets buzzing it, landing on it, etc.  I said to myself "what now...?"  I sneaked in between kamikaze attacks and started the machine, and waited for the masses to clear the seat area.  Dove on in one motion and hit the gas, I damn near fell off the back, but I made a clean getaway.  When I was just out of HS, I worked in the woods in Oregon and remember vividly many encounters with the pesky bald hornets.  Those *censored*s can sting through pants and long johns, and they will chase you.
Nothing witty here.... move along.

Here!  Just been out elk hunting.  Chasing a few big bulls around.  Went scouting the last two days of August in the 113.  Never saw a moose, but we never really left the truck due to the rain.  Saw sign and tracks in many places though.  Don't know if I will be able to make another scouting trip prior to hunt due to schedules.  Can't wait, 19 days to go.

I am heading over Friday morning for a few days of scouting.  I do not plan to hunt until November so I am not in too big of a hurry.   ;)

steeleywhopper if you don't have one yet get an Inland empire timber pass and go up the Thompson creek drainage and you should have no problem finding your grandfather a cow moose close to a road. Bring 2 600ft spools of heavy rope a couple pulley's a saw for cutting dead fall and a couple radio's and your set. At least that's how I did it for my son's youth cow tag 3 years ago
