arrow rest

i have a g5 arrow rest. not happy with it looking for a new rest. looking for some recommendations. im shooting a bowtech allegience the 2006 model. thanks

Yep, good rest.  My dad has the Trophy Taker and I have the new NAP Apache, but I think that the Trophy Taker is a bit better.  The Trophy Taker has better rubber finish on parts that will make noise if your arrow hits them.  The toolless adjustment screws on the NAP seem kind of neat, but they stick out far enough that it pushes against one of the arrows in my quiver.  I'm using skinny Easton Axis arrows, but if I was an aluminum arrow user it might  actually be a problem.

I too have the trophy taker full containment rest. I like it for the simple fact that regardless of what kind of an angle you are holding the bow at, when you draw the rest picks up the arrow. No need to hold your finger over the arrow to keep it in place. Let it lay in there and it will be just fine when it comes time to draw on that big old buck or bull.

I have the trophy taker smack down full containment and love it. There's no way your fletchings can touch the rest when they go by cause the string on the rest keeps it down.

WhiskerBiscuit, really???  FPS are not all that important, so if you can shoot a great group with one of those things, more power to you. I just freak a bit at the thought of sending my fletching through a bunch of bristles.

I have the first model of Trophy Taker and can't see using anything else!  12 or so years throught all kinds of brush, snow, ice, -11 weather and never a single problem.  You couldn't give me a Wisker Biscuit!

I shot a whisker biscuit for a bit but had tuning problems and didn't like the fletching wrinkles.  QAD Ultra solved them and shoots great with full containment.

I have had good luck with a Limb driver and a Rip Cord Code Red.  In the end I ended up with the Code Red on my bows.  I like the containment provided by the Code Red.

I've used different rests as well. I now use Whisker Biscuit. Simple to use, don't have to worry about the arrow coming off of the rest, great for stalks. Currently shooting PSE Bow Madness arrows with fusion vanes, never had a vane come off. Can hit one inch dots from 30 yards, no problem. Just as accurate as any other rest I've used.

I shot a biscuit on my old bow, a Reflex Growler, and it shot great out to 50 yds with broadheads.  Then I got a Z7 and had tuning problems.  I went with the QAD Ultra Pro HD and now I have my field points and broadheads hitting in the same spot.

QAD Ultra for me too. 2 years and still perfect. I hunt with a arrow always knocked and never have any issues.
Bout as perfect a rest as you could ask for IMO.

As I have stated in the past the biscuit was not for me. My bow was simply to tempermental & I'm sure it had to do with form. I've got the Trophy taker full containment & shooting my best groups ever. Very forgiving, I changed grip Etc when I first got it & shoots the same any position. My biscuit I had to really work on form & still was never happy. Mike

I agree mike the biscut is a compromize.  there quick and easy to set up for a beginner and the proshops just throw them on in a hurry to get a guy shooting . no doubt the fallaways have better flight and performance.

The hostage pro is way better than the whisker biscuit. It eliminates all contact with the vanes and it contains your arrow while hunting. I started out with a biscuit, switched to the drop away and now shoot the hostage. I haven't notice any loss of accuracy while using any of these rests.

I replaced my Hostage pro on my second bow with a biscuit.The brushes on the pro weren't pointing centered.

I played and played and played with the sites.The arrow always went to one spot,no matter what i did.
Well I do need glasses,but my buddy looked at it and pointed it out to me.Two brushes pointed center and the third pointed off center.It was a composite w/o adjustments.
And I bought it last year,so no taking it back.
Love the concept,but I'm not sure about the quality.

Simple and you can get new rubber replacements without pulling the shaft Used them for 20 plus years my dad has had them since the beginning.  All the fancy crap is great if you dont go through the brush. 
What happens when they bend going through some slough and on the other side there is a bull broadside looking at you?

I agree with the problems on the hostage pro. My brushes wore out after less than 50 shots and I never could get it tuned right, with several shops trying and still no success. Don't waste the money. If it works for some guys, more power to them....but I had nothing but problems with mine.
