Yeah, I have serious seperation issues with horns. I reluctantly gave my wife a small mulie shed for a guy she worked with once. She told me he makes carvings out of them and was out of horns. Turns out, she had him make this really cool pen set out of them and she gave it to me for Christmas, so that turned out OK.

The only time I would buy any antlers is when I make cribbige boards out of them. I have to buy them.....I can't do it to any of mine.

i wouldn't buy any! just gives the tweekers incentive to poach big bucks/bulls! if they knew people would buy that stuff, you can guarantee they would be out poaching, instead of breaking into peoples houses and stealing stuff!

Some people are hurting for money. I was up in Packwood over the Labor Day weekend and there are guys that all they do is sell racks and sheds. There is big money in them. I gave away a few of my racks in exchange for a few custom knives. I am more of a meat hunter than a trophy hunter, so it doesn't bother me as bad as it would some.

Why would you want a rack you didn't harvest? Aside from trying to decorate a business or something? Are these people going to lie and say the rack on the wall is theirs?

I actually helped a buddy's dad find and buy an elk rack and have it mounted 15 years or so ago for his cabin up by priest lake. His wife wouldn't let him kill one himself to mount, and he wanted one really bad... so he just bought a rack and had it done. I have no idea if he tells his buds if he killed it himself, but I'll damn near gaurantee he doesn't tell them his wife quit putting out until he agreed to never hurt a bambi!
