I forgot to mention the class starts at 9AM and we will try to be done by 4PM. Bruce will do a fur handling demo afterwards. He'll probably skin a 'coon, a beaver, and hopefully a muskrat.
The address is the same as last year:
North Olympia Fire Station
5046 Boston Harbor Rd NE
Olympia, 98506

Is the class a one time requirement.  Meaning, if I take the class and do not buy a trapping license for 2 years, am I still good to go when I do decide to get into trapping?

Also, is there a charge for taking this class?

Yes, a one time requirement. No charge for the class but a charge for the trapper training manual. $10.

Can you either do the class or the home study and take the test or is the class required either way? I ask only because it seems all the classes are westside or almost westside.

You can study the manual at home and take the test at the office. It is what is called challenging the course. You used to have to take the class at Olympia but they may let you take it at a regional office. Ask them.
I know we don't have enough classes but we don't have enough instructors and the department has seeded all responsibility to WSTA. We do our best. Call George Brady. He lives in Pateros and he would probably do a special class for you if you ask him.

On a lighter note from where I sit Olympia is the Eastside or almost Eastside. :)

I want to thank Al, Karen and Bruce for a great class yesterday. I and my nephew learned a lot and very much enjoyed the class. We look forward to talking and hopefully learning more from you all in the future.
