placement
« on: September 17, 2010, 10:46:06 AM »
I'm about to go shopping for a camera, I've searched enough on here so I won't ask which one to get but I need to know where to put it.  I put up my stand last week in a new area.  The spot I chose is about the only place with a 360 degree view of about 100 yards on the property.  It's an open bowl with 4 big trees in the middle with my stand on 1 of them.  I guess my question is would you choose one of those trees to put the camera on?  Behind that group about 30 yards it gets pretty thick but I'm not sure of the range of cameras.  Might be hard to picture but any help with some general tips would be helpful.  Thanks

my tip would be to find the point of entry for the game animal your after and put it there.
Happy Hunting :)

I agree.

Do the critters come all the way out to your stand or do they hang on the periphery? Are there any main trails entering this area?

The area is basically where 2 main ridges meet and also between 2 creeks.  Both ridges are also connected to old abandoned logging roads.  It's a new spot but I've jumped quite a bit of deer in that bowl during the late seasons.  It's basically a road to the neighbors fields.

well never mind, it's a wash.  Nothing but cattle under my stand this morning.  Going to try and find a new spot.
