I hear ya on that one, I bought a box a month ago for my 338, and it was marked at 35, and when they rang it up it was 60, They gave me the marked price but a week later they were all up to 60. Im kicking myself for not buying 3 or 4.

Actually no, I have noticed ammo coming significantly down in price and general availability is much better than it has been in the last couple of years as well.

Last year the best price I could get on 9mm was Brown Bear at $227 per 1000 including shipping, I can go to Wally World now and buy a case of Federal for $220 including tax. Prices in some places and for some calibers are still high but all generally seem to be coming down.
The reason there are so many Ruger upgrades is because they're necessary.

If you guys are looking some cheap ammo. try surplus ammo in lakewood, wa
some of the cheapest I've found.
I recently purchased 500 rounds of .40s&w for 105.99
bvac ammo, it was reloaded ammo, but sure shoots good.

It's not just loaded ammo, reloading components are up as well. 300 RUM brass is is $109. for 50, the last bag I bought around 2 years ago was around $65. for 50. I only reload rifle so I don't know whats up with pistol or shotgun components but rifle cartridge components went up during the shortage and never came back down.

From what I've seen some ammo is still about 75% more now than six years ago. Somewhere in between it shot way up, really quickly.

Right around May of 2008 it went way up, huh about 6 months before...........

I just know I used to buy 160 Accubond loads for the 7WSM for $27 a box. Now they're high $40s and I'm buying regular 270 Accubonds for the low $40s :(

If I was buying factory ammo I wouldn't shoot much.
But buying reloading components alittle at a time, it doesn't sting so bad.
