The evening before
We finally arrive at camp after a wacked out horse ride. I was bucked off and jammed my finger and then my horse went thru a bee hive (ground hornets) and that was an 8 second ride for sure. Pretty much what can happen on a pack in trip on a horse happened to me. Thank god that it landed on the trail and not on the down hill side.
These are pics arriving to camp that evening and some mt pics

Opening morning day #1 buck #1
Opening morning finds the 5 of us scatering in dif. direction. We were all going blind but we had an idea of were to start. Its a 1500 foot climb in .5 miles, do the math its very steep. We were getting up at 4 in the morning and hiking in the dark just to get up the hill from camp. When my dad and I reach the top we start glassing the open ridges and at 9 oclock in the morning dad spots his buck! We had him at 492 yards and he was about 50 yards from his bedding ground (as you can see in the pic), so we did not shoot and watched him bed up. He never did come out of that thicket so about 9 oclock we head over there and make a game plan. I ended up having dad get down wind on the open hillside were he can watch both directions and I went above on the up wind side of the thicket. It worked perfectly, it took the buck about 2 minutes after I got into pososition for the buck to jump out his bed and he headed straight to dad. He shot him at about 100 yards or so and then the worked began.
Its not a huge buck by any means but its his first decent muley and he defently earned it. He dropped it off to rolly today to get mounted. I was dam excited to see the hunt pan out the way it did.
The buck is a 5 x 6 with some cool crowns on the main beams.
Day #2 buck #2 pics later on tonight.
