New old Boat new Paint
« on: September 19, 2010, 10:23:45 PM »
Ran across a 69 Smoker John Boat and picked it up and started digging in. The Boat originally had a 40 hp pump on it and after a few runs under load I knew it wasnt going to do it. I ended up finding a 65hp and it skated on water. I am getting ready for the season to start. I still have the 40hp pump if anyone is looking. The next step for the boat is the blind. I was looking at the avery quickset. Does anyone have any input if it would fit on this boat with the funky bow?

here is a link to the photos, cant seem to post the pics :dunno:

Looks like a nice meat sled. Maybe you could make a custom blind for it....   :dunno:

It looks like you have been busy with the paint.  Looks like it will work.  Some stencil kits down the sides and you will be good to go.

I like to use grass and use it like a stencil - doesn't have to be perfect, just breaking everything up. I did my hybrid last night that way and really liked the results. Just my :twocents:

I made my own stencils but many purchase them from Cabela's.  They have some good ones under the waterfowl section.  Duck chat also offers some on there web site that you can down load.
