Youth Hunt?
« on: September 20, 2010, 06:41:29 AM »
My two kids, ages 13 and 10, just passed their Hunter Education Class and want to go duck hunting.  I mostly hunt in Eastern Wa. and was looking for some place in the South End to take them for the youth opener.  Any help is much appreciated.  I do have all the appropriate gear and a boat for small water.  Thanks in advance!!

Sorry for any confusion as to my location.  I live in Puyallup and was looking to take the kids south, Chehalis area, or west towards the coast.

Have you considered the Nisqually Wildlife Refuge just north of Olympia?

Nisqually is a boat hunt mostly this year. You might consider Ridgefield WLR or Willapa refuge.
It's not true that I am good for nothing---I can be used as a bad example!!

Thanks for the input. I don't think my boat is big enough to hunt the Nisqually Delta area.  If any weather came up I might get in trouble.  Trying to teach the kids to be safe in all aspects of hunting.  I will research the Ridgefield Area.  Thanks again for helping a new member out.  Hopefully I will have some pics of grinning kids to post soon. :)
