monkey bear
« on: September 20, 2010, 05:00:15 PM »
watched this bear for 15 minutes in the top of this tree breaking branches and throwing them to the ground. I thought maybe a bee nest he was after? :dunno: It seemed like he was gathering the branches, he would break a limb off then grab it and throw it to the ground. was pretty entertaining to watch. He escaped before I could get in bow range. Any thoughts on what he might have been doing 70 feet up?

Judging by the photo, it looks like a big chimp escaped from the zoo!

I think it was a mature bear, never saw it close enough to tell but the two tops in that tree were a good 5 feet apart and he easily reached from top to top. Never did see or hear me, he just came down the tree and walked off before I could get close enough to shoot. It looked exactly like a big chimp climbing around, pretty damn agile for a full grown bear. :chuckle:
