I saw three bears today.
« on: September 22, 2010, 07:05:14 PM »
That makes a total of about 10 or 11 so far but have not been able to connect with any of them.  They were up in a meadow about 4500ft and I was at 1800ft.  I left the truck at about 8:30 and headed up.  It was very steep.  Thank god for crampons.  I got to 3500 ft and could go any farther.  I kept getting in to the cliffs and didn't have it in me to cross another creek coming off the mountain to get away from the cliffs.  The brush was over my head and thick.  It was also slick from all the rain we had.  I had to abort the mission.  :bash:
Next time.
