One wet September
«

Most September's I'd die for some cool gray rainy weather, this year we got it on spades. Staying a 1 man tent tucked up under the trees was the only way to stay semi-dry. Kind of reminded me of rifle season. Cows and spikes nowhere to be seen must have been too high for 'em. Another archery tag soup dinner.. luckily I've got a multi-season tag and a cow tage for rifle to fill out there with the orange army in November!
Hope other archers had better luck.. until next year, keep at it!

It was definately wetter than normal. I had to sweep out my trailer at least 3 times a day.
We found elk but most were not in their normal spots. There were times that we were 40 yards from animals but in such dense fog you couldn't tell front from back, just a beige blob.

Opening day was a deluge where we were, felt like Nov Rifle seaon. Figured out pretty quick my light hiking boots aren't near as waterproof as my heavy boots I wear rifle hunting. Was a complete opposite of last season which was hotter than hell all season. Other thing with wet was the mosquitos were awful. But it was still great to be in the woods.

Amen gentlemen, had a soggy last couple of days too. Never got into them but found where they were just couldn't seem to close the gap. Still, a soggy day in the woods is better than a day in the office anyday
Maybe late season will be more successful.

Wet for sure. Didn't think I would need to pack like late season. Fortunately I packed the boot dryer and goretex. Found out I need new boots - a reminder that goretex is only warrantied for 1 year. Got three out of my danners before the left failed. Soggyfoot!

... and it was also colder than previous years for me. But I enjoyed this kind of weather more than plain sunshine. I was doing fine on clothes, but my boot failed after couple days of rain shower. Time for new boot I guess.

I hear ya about the lil tent. We ended up building a fire to try and dry out before we slid into our mummy bags. Normally try and avoid the fire up high, but when you are soaked to the core. What else can ya do? Still better than working though.

We were in Naselle, and I swear it rained 5 inches, WET, WET, WET. Still, it was great to be out and in the woods. Spent some quality time hiding under heavy trees waiting for the deluges to pass. Still better than working or yard work by a long shot.

This is a sign of things to come. Today in the paper over here in Spokane they finally set it is going to be a wet and snow filled winter.
