Thank goodness it is almost over. I have spent the last 3 days & nights hitting it hard....  Using all of the methods I know, even taking the "opportunity" shots to catch up... But I think the SBA's got it in the bag....  Pretty dang close tho, for a 3 man team!!!!!!   12 more for team Yote Gami!  :whoo:

+ 1 Yote Gami

+ 1 Yote Gami

+ 1 Yote Gami

+ 1 Yote Gami

+ 4 Yote Gami

+ 1 Yote Gami

+ 1 Yote Gami

After finally catching up on a few sunday, before the wind really started to rip.  I thought I would give Gringo a Call & see if he had time to go out for an hour or 2.  Well we didn't get allot of call time as the wind kept on increasing, but "gringo" (definitely a little rusty)got Lot's & mean LOT'S of trigger time in... to the tune of at least 30 rounds  :yike: on only 4 dogs........ It was a great time, to end a great derby.... Look forward to it again next year...  SBA's as always stiff compeditors, good showing.  Looking for redemption next year!   :chuckle:
Just need to get a few thousand rounds loaded up for Gringo to get back into practice....   :mgun:

+ 2 Yote Gami

Cheers! To a great derby.....   :brew:  :party1:

I got to give you credit SWAG for the effort you put in this year.  Your shooting improved from the early season and the amount of stands you put in was impressive.  I've been pretty worthless as a teammate the last 2 months.  As far as my shooting yesterday......most of those rounds were trying to finish off a dog you wounded....and yeah, I did burn a clip.  While he wasn't that far, between the spinning and erratic behavior and the strong wind.....I wasn't much help.

Cheers to SBA for another strong showing.  You guys have a strong team and do a good job on those yotes.  Congratulations!

Gringo

P.S.  Enjoy the victory, next year I'm predicting a big silver metal for ya.   :chuckle: :chuckle:

I guess it was just your shooting that was a little rusty, your excuses seem to be spot on.....  :chuckle:  :chuckle: :hunt2:

Swag , 12 in a couple of days is some pretty darn good shooting. Wasn't it just last year that you were taking all the heat for the missed shots? Sounds like you heard a lot of excuses this year.

Gringo, Isn't it kinda funny when you give your hunting partner a bad time about missing dogs it turns around and bites you in the rear sooner or later.  :chuckle: I know Falfire has a couple of Dillon progressive reloaders if your burning up a clip for every dog. I'm a little more ecomony minded as I just try to double tap them before they hit the ground.

Wasn't going out today so slept in till 6:45 had a cup of coffee with my wife and saw her off to work. Then I noticed Good Morning America was on TV, that is the one show I really despise so flipped the TV off and got on my hunting duds. Made it out to a spot about 10 am and started calling, this little male came in on the 6 min mark and stopped at 200 yrds and sat down and watched the area where the caller was.  I tried to work him in closer but about 2 minutes of that he decided he didn't want any so headed back the way he came in, as soon as he hit a rise I gave him the ole squeak and he turned broadside and I got two shots, 2 inches apart into him before he hit the ground. Said good enough and came home.

+21 for Team Red Mist.  Got these in a couple week span around the first of the year.  A couple great days calling led to more than half.  Got a bunch more pics, but don't have time nor access to post.......not that we have a chance to catch the leaders anyway! :chuckle:

It was a great run this year, lots of miles put on boots and gallons upon gallons of fuel in the trucks to get a few dogs. Had a great time hunting with VarmintVentilator and enjoyed seeing all of the photos and reading the stories shared throughout the contest. I can honestly say it was a pleasure to be involved once again with a great team and I enjoyed having the added pressure at times from Gringo, Swag and Wiseoldyote. Thanks to you three I think VV and I are better hunters and callers today. Maybe I'll be up to another round next year but my hip is causing me some serious problems now, I think all of the motorcycle crashes are beginning to catch up to this old man. I wish I were 20 years old again, Hell I would settle for 50 again  :chuckle:

Anyway, Big10, Sagebrush Stalker and Bullelk, thank you all for allowing me to part of such a great team, you guys have a real talent and as always you inspired me to keep on going.

TLBradford, Thank you sir for your part in all of this, without you it would not be the same. I truly hope the best for you and your family.

Hey Gringo.....................What did ya do with all that brass?  :hello:

Thanks all for a great time  :rockin:

Big 10, Bullelk, and SBS.  Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your team.  I had alot of fun.  This is always enjoyable to read the stories of everyones hunts and see the pictures.  There is no question that Yote' Gami is going to be locked and loaded this fall.  I really enjoy the crap that Gringo and Swag give each other, it shows they enjoy the hunt and each others company.  You might try a new scope Gringo.   :chuckle:  Just joking.
I'm just wondering what happened to Gutpile, he was flat whack'en them for a while.  All the teams combined killed a pile of dogs this year.  That is the best part of this whole thing, seeing all those dogs go down.  Until next time, get those empties reloaded.

I almost forgot.   MtnMuley, there are some really nice looking dogs in that bunch, with some really good size.  Looks like you should weigh a couple of those to see how heavy they are.  Excellent job.  Glad I'm not eating at your place.   :chuckle:

Since Falfire said it so well I'll just go  :yeah:

Falfire,  Maybe next year we'll have a over 50 team and we can get a sponsorship from Advil, We'll call it the Old Dogs or something. Of course we'll need a 75 point handicap or someone to help get our powered wheelchairs unstuck. Thanks Falfire and VarmintVentilator for being on our team.

I kinda figured that MtnMuley was going to post a bunch the last day.  :chuckle:

The sad part is what Falfire said, anymore the expense of the gas/diesel and other related items for any type of hunting is preventing a lot of people from going out and enjoying a weekend in the outdoors.

I really enjoyed this years contest and appreciate TLBradfords work to keep it going.

Gringo, Since calving has started you know dang well that if it would have run thru March you would have kicked butt. You and Swag need to give each other a hug and then see how long it takes to start bickering again.  :chuckle:
I wouldn't be surprised if WiseOldYote is still out there whacking a few until midnite.

Dammmmmmmm MtnMuley,  :yike:
You need to get a bigger shed!!!  :chuckle: way to stack them up...

Falfire, I understand that with age we tend to have less mobility, but I would hate to think that you are looking for a way out of a challenge.  :chuckle: Judging from your posts on this site I would never assume that you are the type of individual who would considered doing such a thing.  :dunno: With that said, I hope with some rest, aroma therapy, an off road package on a JAZY Power chair :4w:, or maybe even taking advantage of some of those opportunity dogs :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:
you would bring the same challenge next year.  After seeing all of the SBA's whacking & staking this season I will agree with Gringo's goal of second place for you all next year!

With all of the smack talking aside, this competition wouldn't be near as fun with out real compeditors like your self's.  Falfire I wish you a speedy recovery..

It's contests like this that make this forum special for me.  Friendly competition, common interests with "strangers", sharing of skills, successes and blunders.  I'd like to thank SBA for being great, both in skill and character.  Thanks to Tbrad for his time to moderate (I think he drew the short straw 2 years in a row).

Cheers again!

Yep, it bit me later, but while I burned a clip of 10, I've outshot SWAG on days when I forgot my clip and was single feeding my AR.  The problem is that all the crap I give the man, is that I think he is finally starting to learn how to dish it back out.......slow learner :chuckle:

So true Big 10, I have already started working on strategies for next year..  Since Gringo stinks so bad, the hug isn't going to ever happen.  :bdid: But his b-day is coming up I just figured I would get him a present that would help him in the Derby next year.  I am just not sure weather it will hold enough?  :dunno:

Really to bad they don't offer it in pink!     :chuckle:
