BOUGHT and paid for!!!!!!!!!!! might as well go to a elk farm and buy one too...........

and it really burns my aZZ that it isnt even a resident of our state.......this is crap.. I dont care what the money is used for..... BOUGHT AND PAID FOR..........no thanks...

This isn't hunting, This is paying for an elk!!!!!!!!!!!

You just dont see the point do you????
Someone should try to grow up and understand the benefits this tag has to the state and ALL the hunters.

You just dont get it. :bash:

Theyre all opinions, perhaps people shouldnt get worked up over them....

Its a monster, and sure, everyone else had an opportunity at it, but as the tag goes, why not give another Washintonian the tag? Yes, the money goes to a great cause, but at least it wouldnt go to a non-res (over and over)

3 years in a row should be enough..  :twocents:

That being said, Congrats Mr. Agnew, that bulls just ridiculous!

The incentive tagholder and the raffle tag holders all have the same opportunity as Mr. Agnew did to kill this bull. The difference is Mr. Agnew had a  guide and really thats about it. Heck the incentive tag guy could have been hunting this bull and didn't even seem to know that he could have been.

Everyone needs to remember Its just one bull!! There are big bulls throughout the state! It's not like he killed the only one in Washington. More power to him. Again, he's donating a lot of money to go hunt fair chase. Not to mention helping one or two families along the way by hiring help.

People aren't worked up about the tag, they're worked up because he could afford to hire a dedicated guide to hunt this down for him, the gov. tag just opened up some more GMU potential.  Probably would still moan about it if he took a Rosie elk out of the peninsula where an OTC tag literally could harvest the same bull.

RE-RUN  >:( Money is evil  >:( we don't have it, he does! that's what this boils down to! this post really went the wrong way AGAIN  :bash: it a great bull and congrats to him (Mr. Agnew) If I was in his shoes I would be doing the same thing, and so would most of us if you say you wouldn't then I might have to call you a liar :twocents: that's one bull! and the money it generates is awesome (there is one out there bigger) I'm sure of it! I would sacrifice a couple more to keep this section of the state fundage in the + column! You have a debate about it there will be a state meeting this spring like there is every year,it is for debating issue like this you all welcome to join!  :hello:

I admit that if someone was to bag that same elk without all the money invested and without external resources, I would hold the harvest and experience in much higher admiration.

If you have the $$$ and the time to dedicate huge amounts of time into hunting a big bull, then $$$ isn't a limiting factor for you... almost the same as being rich... Most people have either time.... Or money... You tend to sacrifice one for the other. Unless you have gobs of cash like Paris Hilton (That you inherited)

I agree with Ray. I also see both sides of the argument here. First off, congrats to Mr. Agnew on a fine bull. Second, it was fair chase, no fences or private property. I do however agree that hunting is becoming a rich man's sport. I am not a rich man, and I feel it more and more every year. But, we live in a capitalist country, and to protect our hunting heritage and rights, the people with money had to get involved. I for one am torn, because it does seem like it takes money to kill a trophy animal, but every year, some average guy that works his butt off kills exceptional trophy's. Let's face it, we can't all kill trophy animals, they are few and far between.

At one time his last bull and this one were standing side by side each other on a friends property.  COOL to see.  I assume it was this one anyway.  Close enough.  PROBABLY why Dan came back to hunt.

p.s.    There is one more BIGGER in the same generality that Dan tried for but couldn't get permission to hunt.   I think someone has a tag and has a shot at him though. ;)

Personally, if I ended up with this tag, I would just shoot a cow so as not to upset anybody.

WTF?  If you don't like it then blame the system that makes this possible.  The dude has the money, acquired the tag and shot a nice bull.  As far as I know, he followed all the rules and regulations that go into getting this tag.  Good for him.  If I had that kind of money I'd probably do the same thing.

What a tank.  And it's good to know these big boys are still out there and available on public land...
