Jackelope,
this is how it all starts with money and putting a value on an animal. If anything it will make hunting more expensive than it already is. If that is not case then why do people but land and then CHARGE people to hunt on it.... its all about money. For what, elk with big horns... way over rated in my book.

If elk with big horns are overrated, then you should be ABSOLUTELY STOKED that some crazy guy from Oregon donates $50K every year to your state for one measly elk!

Just to be clear, I personally would gladly buy governors' tags given the resources.  I actually hope that the publicity from these bulls increases the going auction rate, since we all benefit from the proceeds.  I also do not think these bulls will alter the general draw odds given the significant barriers to entry.

Everyone needs to remember Its just one bull!! There are big bulls throughout the state! It's not like he killed the only one in Washington. More power to him. Again, he's donating a lot of money to go hunt fair chase. Not to mention helping one or two families along the way by hiring help

p.s.    There is one more BIGGER in the same generality that Dan tried for but couldn't get permission to hunt.   I think someone has a tag and has a shot at him though. ;)

2 guys and they both have rifle tags  ;)

At one time his last bull and this one were standing side by side each other on a friends property.  COOL to see.  I assume it was this one anyway.  Close enough.  PROBABLY why Dan came back to hunt.

not too sure of that...

DANG! that thing is a beast! i would love to just see one of those some day. was his last huge one a non-typical? because that would be awesome to have a monster typical and a monster non-typical. Congrats Mr. Agnew, and thank you for the income to our state... now lets hope it is used for the right things.

Has it even been confirmed that he is from Oregon or is that just someones thought?

I thought Dan Agnew was from Centralia, WA.  Is this a different Dan Agnew or the same for those that are saying he is a non-resident.  I don't know him, just know of him.  So entirely possible that I have the wrong person.  Could someone confirm?
