For the goose decoys I'm running 1 dozen GHG shells w/ flocked heads and butts then I have 1 six pack of GHG harvester w/ flocked heads and butts. My buddy has 1 harvester pack and 1 six pack of feeders so instead of buying the motion decoy for $80-90 im thinking of getting a four pack of resters and converting one looker or one active to a wing flapper, its costing me about $3 for the convertion. Its not a monster spread but with the new dekes we will have 34 and 2 of the edge kite/flag landing dekes. Right now im trying to be as economic as possible to add more geese to our spread, everytime I ready an article about decoy spreads where they put out 100+ dekes I just want to cry.
Sundance, cool little project. I would switch from wooden dowel to a fiberglass rod. Go buy a kids bicycle flag for cheap at Kmart and you have all the fiberglass whip rod you need.... I bet the wood gets wet and snap....Tyvek sounds like a great way to go.....anyone ever try shooting a light coat of spray paint on it? Curious...
