I called Montana today and asked when the drawing is for all us out of state hunters, It takes place the 14th of April.  I always get excited for the drawing.

4 points, you must have been putting in for deer only. I have never heard of anyone not drawing with 2 points in the combo, let alone 4. If you did apply for combo each year, its possible you made some minor error on your app. I know they are VERY!!! picky. I was told several years ago by them that even so much as your signiture can have them circular file your app. I go by Rob but my name is Robert and my signiture is Robert. If I fill out my app and put down Rob, but sign the app as Robert, it gets circular filed. Just little crap like that will eliminate it from what they told me.

Maybe you need to change your signature so that it is not legible, as many people seem to do.

I don't have a problem drawing Bobcat, in fact I would say I have been very fortunate over the years. I'm just explaining to everyone that its little things like that that keep people from drawing, not just the signiture.

My borther wants to hit Idaho as well if we don't draw, I will have to wait and see how M-Ray does.

I just made that comment because I have the same problem. My legal name is Robert and if I don't sign that way, sometimes they will ask me to sign "Robert" and not "Bob." I always wonder what about those people with a signature that you can't read. Why does it matter how I sign my name as long as it's the same way every time?

I think i would rather go to Idaho anyway but my group wants to go to Montana so i am going to. I think a guy has a better shot at a booner in Idaho.

No points here to, got drawn last year. The odds of getting drawn for the combo are not bad, I know a lucky few who have been drawn up to 4 years in a row. With my luck, it's been pretty much every other year. Let's hope the economy and fuel prices increase our odds this year.

I'm not sure what my percentage for life would be but I do know its been 7 out of the last ten for me.

If it's deer only, not deer/ elk combo, you generally get drawn in 2-3 years. Deer/ elk combo is a lock every two. I actually hope I don't get drawn this year, other plans.
