My buddy has propery near Republic and found this guy in his son's stand last weekend. Guess you better look up before climbing into your stand.

LOL...too funny. Never could figure out why folks would fabricate stories like that.

And you wonder why you get emails, etc with pics and 12,000 different stories with it. Everyone wants to claim they "know" who took the pic, were "there" when it happened, etc.

Almost makes you wonder if his "Opener Bear Down" post is true too.

Lots of bears climbing treestands this year. I may have to change my hunting tactics. Put up a ground blind next to my ladder stand.

I saw a WDFW officer yesterday with several confiscated treestands in the back of his rig.  Maybe this "Republic" bear was baiting humans and got busted?  :dunno:

Why would they confiscate treestands?

Only thing I can think of would be private lands, and the property owners wanted them removed  :dunno:

Quadfire, uh, evidence from a case?  You know, I just didn't have time to flag down the officer on the freeway and ask.    They just very well could have been his own and he was on his way to do some hunting in his state rig.  I guess that I shouldn't assume that they were confiscated.  I have, however seen them take treestands that were left within park boundaries and have heard of them taking them from private property by request of the land owner.
