Stupid question
« on: September 24, 2010, 11:59:37 AM »
Going up North this week for ml deer. If I am lucky enough to tag out on a deer will try and chase bear. Am I obligated to use my ml for bear or can I bring a rifle and/or bow to try for bear?

Thanks

Not a stupid question at all.
With the way the regs are written better to ask and know, then to make a mistake.
Bear can be hunted with any legal weapon during the open season, regardless of what else is open.

To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

I thought it was ok with any weapon for bear, not sure. This state can be confusing at times re their hunting and fishing regs. Did not want to get into trouble with WDFW.

Don't blame you one bit, the regs are poorly worded and it never hurts to ask. Good luck out there
