Grouse Around Ellensburg
« on: September 24, 2010, 02:32:39 PM »
Hey,

Me and My dad are head over to the east side to do a little scouting. I was wondering if anybody does any grouse hunting in and around ellensburg area, I was thinking maybe north of thorp, the tree line in clockum pass? In the clockum pass high section what elevation is it. Would these areas be worth going grouse hunting(any birds up there.)

Thanks Mark,

I bet I have hunted grouse more than anyone around ellensburg so far this year. Probably more than half of the days of the season so far! I was just out today with my puppy and he was doing awesome but no grouse today. I have found a couple spots that we are seeing grouse in every morning that we hit em but I can't really give those away... I can steer you in the right direction though on a couple of good spots that I am not planning on using right now.

That would be awesome! This weekend we stubbled around and found 2 ruff's with our pointers, but alot of ground and not many birds.

I already sent you a message. Check your inbox. Finding 2 ruffed grouse is a very good start.

Plenty blues and lots of ruffed if you get in on some of the old roads north of Eburg
