My brothers and I used to hunt those vermin growing up in Wisconsin.  Some of the most fun you can have hunting.
Look man, some times you just gotta roll the dice

My dad bought a "trained" blue tick when I was a kid in WI.  He decided to get rid of it after the third time out with no coons and he had to lift it over a foot and a half tall fence that it refused to jump over.....  A friend's dog did well so we had some fun chasing anywaysw.

:(  Yeah- it's hard to sell a good dog, I am generally skeptical of 'finished dogs' for sale...unless they're asking 5k... :yike:

 8) I used to go coon hunting growing up in Vermont. Was a lot of fun most of the time. I was always the one who had to climb the tree and shoot them out or get them when they got stuck. I remember my mom saying that if i ever missed school i could never go again. Well even sometimes getting in at 5:00 in the am i never missed a day of school. I miss it alot.. Brings back a lot of memories.. Go get em..

Anybody here who knows more about Rules. I spoke with Guy from Spokane. My understand that I am not allowed to hunt Coons thur Rifle Season. But Problem it said RIFLE SEASON it Mean from Morning till before Dark. SO Can I hunt After dark which is not RIFLE SEASON?   :dunno:

Or Am I not allowed to hunt at all during Rifle Season Which mean all day all night until Rifle Season Closed.

Just make sure before I go. Because I really ANXIOUS to kill one more Coon before 16th... Been working a lot lately last two days.  :bash:

Let me know if anybody know more about this Rule.

You can't hunt them at night during rifle season. But I don't see why you couldn't during the day. But I don't know for sure.

1. Hunting with artificial lights:
Hunting BIG GAME with the aid of an artificial
light or spotlight is prohibited.

Night Hunting and Hound Hunting
During Deer and Elk Hunting Seasons
Bobcat, raccoon, and coyote may be hunted at night during established bobcat and raccoon seasons, EXCEPT that it is unlawful to hunt any wildlife at night
or wild animals with dogs (hounds)
during the months of September, October, or November in any area open to a centerfire rifle deer or elk season. The use of
hounds to hunt black bear, cougar, bobcat, or coyote is prohibited year round except during commission authorized hunts.

I states both are not legal.

You can hunt with dogs, you can hunt at night, you can even hunt september, october, and november, you just can't hunt a unit that is open to centerfire rifle.   therefore, if your hunting with a .22 caliber...use a rimfire or a pellet gun.

That is the way I've always interpreted anyways, I use to have a coon dog.  We've ran bear, cougar and coon.

Awesome pictures.  I've wanted to get back into it really bad...need to find time.  You should get involved in the Washington State Coonhunters Association.

I have went to Coon Club few times. I had good time.   I start to not going because we dont really have time and I drew twice non-residence hound and my wife also Drew this year and hunt in Idaho a lot with my wife. It isnt that Easy when I spend with lots dogs, Daugther, Building many Projects, working full time and family. Its so hard to make plann one thing a time.
