I have several tikkas love them all, I have only been shooting 50 years tho, so dont know much.  Of new offerings I feel the Tikkas outperform the Remingtons, rugers, Weatherbys, howas, savages etc. and do so by a substantial margin. these are from223 thru 300 win mag and short mag. Hundreds of rounds.

Hello William!! FOsteology makes some good points for the 'ultimate' in rifles. Claw extractor, manual ejecter, controlled feed, no magazine to lose. I have rifles with those also. For a dangerous game rifle or ultra rugged I agree but for what I do I dont see the point.

All my tikkas are very accurate, astoundingly so.

BigStick is a troll and self-described expert who's been banned on other boards.
Maybe a little knowledge in an extremely insecure package.
Wait til you see the pics from other boards....Like the Village People of outdoor sports.
It only gets better......

So let me get this straight.... someone posts one of 'Stick's videos on this board. Then, a bunch of people call hin an idiot and a liar,  and question his methods. He gets on here an does the same to a few of you in a manner only Stick is capable of... and he gets banned??? A bit hypocritical wouldn't you say?

I never called him an idiot. I never called him a liar or any other names. I put up with his antics and was waiting for him to act like an adult. Instead he comes with this mantra that he knows everything about anything and that everyone else in the world is inferior. I didn't really care about him disagreeing as much as I was tired of reading his instigating and childish remarks directed at anyone and everyone. I can understand people get angry about one subject or another but this guy probably needs some psychotherapy.

This isn't the MaryKay site however this isn't romper room either. People like that can grow up or get the hell out.

Doesn't have to be Marykay.  A bit of civility or manners might be helpful.  Troll behavior is not tolerated or welcomed.  Heated discussion and disagreements are all fine.

Back to the the tikka question...

Thanks for the explination, to the gentlemen who got banned. I can admit there are some things I dont care about, for the Tikka...mainly loading directly into the barrel is a pain....

I will keep an "eye" on the suspect bolt shroud. As for it's function so far....1 bear, 1 massive spike down...seems accurate enough for me...Im no marine sniper (sadly..)

Thanks again~!~

I figured I would get flamed for admitting I didnt know where the shroud was...nice to see I wasnt called a newb, etc... ;)

Cheers

There are those that distrust Tikka due to fairly progressive use of composites and weight savings.
If I shot benchrest or wanted to put 2000 rds of thumper ammo downrange, I would suspect those pieces.
For an accurate, lightweight, well-machined huntin stick, I wouldn't worry.

Saylean I agree that he did have some good words to say among his responses and there was some truth in a few of his remarks. It's too bad people cannot be polite and want to just dominate everyone on almost every single post they make. Again I do understand heated debates and that people sometimes get upset about one thing or another but I don't believe this was the sort of thing going on here. It's unfortunate.

Not agruing about the ban at all, just for an fyi (ban for whatever reason..it is not my say). I used to be a moderator on a video game forum for about 3 years...so I know what the job entails. ;)

IP Bans are great.

It is too bad we "all just cant get along"....

I think people have the winter itch and need to get out to hike/hunt/fish. ;)

Cheers :)
