Yakima Area grouse #'s

For those of you that spend some time in the hills around yakima, have you been seeing many grouse this year? I might head out tomorow morning just to get out of the house and look around a bit, and thought id take the shotgun along too. I have never shot a grouse before, always seen em, just dont want to shoot them with the rifle.

Thanks

Seen lots of grouse during early archery season, in the little naches. I imagine there should be a good number of grouse closer to yakima as well.

I've already seen more grouse around ellensburg this year than ever before. Multiple spots and grouse just about every time i go looking for them. 270- u been hunting the little naches for grouse? They should be all over in there. Funny thing about grouse this year has been the elevations. Usually I see blue grouse at 4,000 feet and above but this year I have only seen 2 above 4,000 feet. They are mostly around the 3,500 mark. Good luck

No ellensburg, I havent even really been up in the mountains this year, spent most of my time this summer playing baseball and fishing the naches and some other streams around here. I'll probably get out this afternoon, I couldnt go this mornig because I had stuff to do that i didnt know about last night :bash:. I was thinking about going up the foundation ridge area since its pretty close to home. Im not planning on hunting deer this year during general (would rather go shoot ducks) so i didnt even think about scouting.
