bear hunting today
« on: September 26, 2010, 09:04:23 PM »
me and my son today went bear hunting today out by  the coast. did not have any luck. so we stopped by river to see how the salmon fishing was on the way back. theres alot of fish in the river and they were rolling alot and i seen a few caught before we took off to another spot on the way back. we hit another spot on the way back towards longview. we set up above a 5 or 6 year old clear cut. i have three  calls  from rr calls. ive been useing them the last two times out. ive never called for bears before. i started with a fawn in distress. calling about 35 or 45 seconds then waiting about 10 to 15 seconds. after about a 1/2 hr. i started useing a rabbit distress call and calling 35 to 45 seconds and then waiting. after about three calling sequences in the timber on the other side of this logging road we were on. i here sticks breaking and can here something moveing closer to the road we were  on :yike: never got a chance to see what it was. a guy in a pickup comes cruising down the road :bash:. all i can do is guess what it was i dont think it was a yote as they seem pretty small to make that kind of noise in the area i hunt in. it could of been a bear. it sure seemed curious about my calling or it would of never came in so close to the road. found some good game trails to put my scouting cameras in see if there are any bears or bucks useing this area.

So are there any fish in the Grays?? or Elochoman??   That bear will be around when you go back in.
