Viszla'a are the great!!  You won't find a better family and hunting dog out there.  As far as duck hunting, mine will retreive but he gets cold quick.  He's better for puddle jumping rather than sitting in a duck blind all day.  As long as you keep them moving they will stay warm and hunt all day.  As far as odors go, as mentioned, just give them a bath every other week or so and you shouldn't have any problem.  VERY high energy, hopefully you have a big yard.  Shoot me a PM if you want some info on breeders.  Being that these dogs are not real common, it is hard to find a good one and there are some bad ones around.  I know a good breeder who should be having pups pretty soon.

Last night I decided to give my Shorthair and my Vizsla the sniff test side by side.  They both got baths about a week and a half ago and I will admit that the Vizsla did have a little less doggy odor.  Although  be careful when doing the sniff test if you are bending over and sniffing their backs.  Vizsla got all excited and raised up as I was going down for a sniff and smashed her back bone right into my nose.  :chuckle: I think that will be the end of my sniff testing.
